Air Alert is great program

I got Air Alert when I was 15. I used the program through the summer and fall. The first few weeks I gained a few inches and I kept on jumping higher and higher. Before I could touch the rim and now I can dunk easily.
Some people say it hurts your knees and it can if you do it the wrong way. I used a pad to jump on so my knees wouldn't get ruined. Going straight to the 10th week will also hurt your knees and legs.
This site says that it doesn't have a training schedule for different ages. I agree with this. You should only do Air Alert if you are about 14 or older so your legs are strong enough. Even then the last weeks might be too hard on a young body. But if you follow the instructions then it is a great program.
I would just say if you are only about 13 or 14 and your legs are still weak, then maybe just do all of the program except for the last couple weeks so you don't get injured. This program delivers results if you follow it.
VerticalJumping.com Response: Hi Adam, congratulations on your results. Being able to dunk is an awesome feeling.
I have to point out a few things about your feedback though that I think are important to understanding why Air Alert is so widely criticized.
On one hand you say
"if you follow the instructions then it is a great program"
but then in several other sentences you offer modifications to the program such as
"I used a pad to jump on so my knees wouldn't get ruined"
"if you are only about 13 or 14 and your legs are still weak, then maybe just do all of the program except for the last couple weeks so you don't get injured"
Your own suggestions to modify the program are the more correct choice. The volume of jumps in this program is simply way, way too high. There is also no regard for an athletes strength levels which means that the program isn't for everyone (actually I don't really think it is for anyone - there are much better programs availabale).
Please do not take my comments as me having a go at you. Your results speak for themselves and you should quite rightly be very proud of them. However, to suggest that your results mean that Air Alert is a great program for everyone is simply not correct.
