Best Use For Improving Vertical Jump

Back squats using bands are similar to the regular back squat but they also have the added factor of accommodating resistance. As such they can be used for either improving maximum strength or explosive strength. When bands are used I tend to favor using slightly lighter weights and going for more explosive work. I find this plays more into the strengths that the bands offer.

Technique Tips

The technique for back squats with bands is exactly the same as regular back squats. However due to the resistance of the bands you will need to use a lower weight on the bar itself and you will also need to really concentrate on accelerating throughout the lift to overcome the increasing resistance provided by the bands.
