I just started lifting a couple months ago, I weigh 145 lb, have difficulty squatting barely over 1x my body weight, but I have a 32-36 inch vertical on good days when it comes to indoor volleyball.

Playing on sand definitely makes you jump higher regardless of how much or little leg strength you have.
