Here at VerticalJumping.com we are extremely lucky to be able to chat with Shawn Myszka from Explosive Edge Athletics. Recently I had the pleasure of chatting to Shawn about reactive training techniques, or more correctly, eccentric strength training. This is just the tip of the iceberg of this topic and we will be sure to setup a few more calls as Shawn not only happens to know a hell of a lot about it, but luckily for us, loves to share that knowledge.

Shawn is the Co-Founder/Athletic Performance Director of Explosive Edge Athletics in Minneapolis, MN. He is also a highly sought-after jump clinician who founded the Plyometrics Special Interest Group and presents extensively on topics of Plyometrics/Jump Training at dozens of clinics nationwide each year. He is widely recognized as a leader in the field of plyometrics and jump training throughout the industry.

Shawn formerly worked on the Strength & Conditioning staff with the Chicago Bears in 2003, is a former National-level bodybuilder who was trained by 6-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates. He currently trains many of the top athletes in the state of MN on all levels (HS, college, and professional) and serves as a consultant to many of the state’s top athletic programs. He is a member of the Minnesota NSCA Advisory Board and was voted the 2008 Minnesota NSCA Personal Trainer of the Year
