The low box lunge - step up is a hybrid type exercise that is great for single leg jumpers. The combination of the two motions targets nicely the key jumping muscles.

Technique Tips

This exercise is best performed using medium to light weights. Focus on going deep into the lunge and then exploding quickly into the step up. The low box means the step up itself isn't actually that taxing but it isn't mean't to be. The emphasis is more on driving the non working leg up with speed.
