Best Use For Improving Vertical Jump

Pistol box squats are an easier version of regular pistol squats. If you can't perform a regular pistol squat you should start with these. Whilst not as effective as full pistols they are still good for building single leg strength and knee stability.

Technique Tips

Basically you do the same as a regular pistol squat except that you lower yourself onto a box. It is important not to just drop down onto the box, instead lower yourself and gently touch the box before ascending again. As you get better at them you gradually use lower and lower boxes until they are no longer required.
