There have been plenty plenty of articles and books that recommend a lot of maximum strength training as a means of increasing your vertical jump. However, are they overstating the case too much? After all, jumping high is when you stop and think about, pretty different to lifting weights. was lucky enough to speak to Shawn Myszka from Explosive Edge Athletics on this very topic.
