Vert Freak 101 ReviewVert Freak is created by Adam Linkenauger, who really does practice what he preaches and iswithout doubt a VertFreak himself, and guess what, it is actually pretty good. Vert Freak contains a mix of solid training information and a nice variety of programs. For the full low down read on! ![]() Quality of InformationAs mentioned in the intro Vert Freak has been created primarily by Adam Linkenauger who not only has a phenomenal vertical leap himself, but is also seven times ACC high Jump champion. In short, Adam knows what he is talking about!Actually it was quite refreshing to finally see a program that is based on proven methods instead of “secret mathematical formulas” and marketing hype. The program includes good advice for squatting, core work, in season training, plyometrics, warming up, cooling down, stretching, and jumping technique. One of the best parts of Vert Freak that you really can't find anywhere else, and this includes our very own vertical jump program Vertical Mastery, is the section on jumping technique. Adam's high jump days have given him great insight into this area and he has some terrific tips that if you are having trouble with your running jump you will find to very beneficial. CustomisationThe program comes with three levels of workouts, beginner, intermediate, and advanced. It also includes a number of tests to help the athlete determine at what level they should begin. In our review of the Vertical Jump Bible (VJB) we made the following (highly positive) observations: "The programs themselves are very well structured. They are designed to contain exercises that will focus on the different athletic characteristics of a vertical jump so you should develop a pretty good balance of the key strengths required. In many regards, those statements could equally be applied to this program as well. Adam had put together a variety of different programs to suit the needs of any sort of athlete, and these are all very well structured using tried and true exercises. ![]() PresentationAlthough like Jacob Hiller with the Jump Manual, Adam is advertises Vert Freak as software, this isn't actually true. Vert Freak IS NOT A SOFTWARE PROGRAM. If you are looking for software along the lines of Vertical Mastery that does your athletic analysis for you and then creates you a custom made training program designed to work on your individual weaknesses, well you will be very disappointed with Vert Freak. You see the reality is that it is an interactive e-book (this is NOT A PDF by the way) with videos, not a software application. That said, this does not detract in any way from the quality of the product and videos, or the ease of understanding of the information contained within the program. Value For MoneyVert Freak now costs between $67 and $77. This is a very fair price given all the excellent information and programs included, especially the sections on jumping technique which you just can't get anywere else. The obvious competitor as far as ebooks go is the Vertical Jump Bible. While both contain similar information about the essentials of vertical training, recovery, and both contain a variety of solid jump programs to suit different athletes, if I had to choose between these two I would definitely go with Vert Freak. The presentation is much better (like Vertical Mastery, Vert Freak has full videos for everything which makes it easy to use and understand), I think the programs are set out better, and also I believe the main value in the Vertical Jump Bible is the way it details the fundamentals of vertical jump training, which to be honest, you can and should save yourself the money and simply download our FREE Vertical Jump Training Guide. Marketing NotesI am writing this section as a departure from the usual review process because of the huge number of emails I have received from people wanting to know whether or not this is a scam because some of the marketing reminds them of the type of thing Luke Lowery does.So here is my take on this. First and foremost Vert Freak is NOT a scam and is an excellent program. Adam is definitely not a con artists. That said, I agree with some of the emails, and I thought a few of Adam's marketing claims were a bit over the top. Still, Adam is one of the good guys in the vertical jumping world and regularly spends time talking with people about how they can improve thier jump and so I think we should cut him a bit of slack. ConclusionVertFreak101 is really very good, and if I had to pick a second best program after Vertical Mastery this would be it. Adam Linkenauger not only has extensive knowledge and practical experience with vertical jump training, but also a tremendously positive attitude towards helping athletes improve their vertical jump. If you were to use Vert Freak you would definitely improve your vertical jump.To find out more click on the link: VertFreak 101 COMPARISON TO VERTICAL MASTERY
