best jump programThis could be you!

Did you know most vertical jump training programs have one MASSIVE flaw that means despite their over-hyped claims of guaranteed inches they won't actually  get you very good results. You see nearly all vertical jump programs available online are pre-written. And this is a BIG problem. A REALLY BIG problem.

So why don't these pre-written programs work?

They don't work for the following reasons

1) They can't and don't address your specific INDIVIDUAL athletic needs.

2) They can't take into account your individual circumstances and current training load.

3) And lastly, a pre-written program cannot adapt to keep your gains coming as your athletic abilities develop.

A crappy pre-written cookie cutter type program is never going to get you great results because it doesn't cater for the obvious fact that every athlete is quite different and therefore needs a different approach to their training to get THEIR BEST results.

Here is why. In simple terms a pre-written program generally tries to cover all aspects of increasing your vertical jump. They often market themselves as being 'comprehensive' jump programs. Relative strength, explosive strength, reactive strength, and technique are the big areas that need to be trained.

Training everything at once sounds like a good idea in theory, however if you are already quite good at some of those things (AND MOST PEOPLE ARE!), then spending more effort continuing to train those areas is a complete waste of your time as it doesn't produce any further gains. It is just wasted training.

Now to be clear, I am not saying these pre-written programs don't work. They just don't work anywhere near as well as a custom program written specifically for the athlete.

If you don't believe me than ask yourself this one question.

Why does EVERY college and professional team (and even many high school teams) employ strength and conditioning staff?

They do it for one reason and one reason only.

If these teams could get the same or better results from some crappy pre-written training manual do you think they would spend the thousands (and in some cases MILLIONS) of dollars they do on hiring the best coaches for their athletes to train them?

how to jump higherALL Pro Athletes Have Their Own Coach

Want an obvious example. Above is a picture of well known athletic trainer Tim Grover. He trained Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, and many others including Dwyane Wade as shown.

Tim also wrote an ok jump training book that he sells for $40. So let me ask you this again: Why would all of those professional athletes pay Tim Grover huge amounts of money to train them if they could get the same results as just doing the program written in his book?

The answer is obviously that they can't get the same results. They would get crappier results from the pre-written book program. And so will you if you follow a pre-written program.

So why then do people who want to jump higher still buy pre-written cookie cutter vertical jump programs online? In fact, WHY WOULD YOU EVER BUY A COOKIE CUTTER PROGRAM knowing it wasn't going to give you the results you really want?

If you have a choice why wouldn't YOU HIRE YOUR OWN COACH to design training programs for you?

For most people the answer is of course cost. Hiring your own specialist vertical jump coach is usually a lot more expensive than buying a pre-written cookie cutter program.

There is another option? If you could afford your own personal vertical jump coach would you:

A) get a targeted custom vertical jump program written specifically for your needs, and thus get far better training results.

B) Go for the crappy results option and buy a pre-written cookie cutter program that may or may not work for you?

Obviously any intelligent person would do exactly what every smart pro and college team does and you would HIRE YOUR OWN VERTICAL JUMP COACH.

And that's where I come in. Since I started I have answered literally thousands of emails from athletes all around the world who want to get better but either don't have the knowledge to design their own programs, or the means to pay someone who can.

On this very website there is a lot of excellent free information about how to train to improve your vertical jump. What you don't find though is much in the way of specific programming. The reason for this is that GOOD programming really does need to be designed on an individual to individual basis.

Each athlete is different. They have different strengths and weaknesses, access to different training equipment, their commitments from life and their chosen sports will be different, every person has different genetic abilities to adapt to certain styles of training, and so on. All of these things can and do have a big impact on the types of results that can be achieved from their training.

These colleges, and professional sporting teams (and lets face it, even a lot of high school's) also know the truth of this, which is why they invest so much money into their coaching staff and facilities. They want their athletes to get superior results from their training efforts.

Many young athletes don't know what appropriate volumes and loading to use, what areas to emphasize during their training, or when to change that emphasis to something else. These situations are surprisingly common, and in each case the result is the same: less than impressive gains, or even worse, a LOSS of athletic ability.

However, it doesn't have to be that way. With a little bit of guidance from a vertical jump coach, a customized training plan, and some hard work by you, you can not only avoid many of the pitfalls of a bad program, but you can also DRASTICALLY IMPROVE YOUR TRAINING RESULTS, and your chances of athletic success.

If you are looking to improve your vertical jump it really comes down to this:

If you don't care about your results that much then go right ahead and waste your money a cookie cutter pre-written program. It really is that simple.

So here is what I'm offering.

  • A personal review of your individual strengths and weaknesses as they relate to vertical jump improvement.
  • Ongoing custom designed vertical jump training programs
  • Exact listing of exercises, sets, reps, weights (where appropriate), and rest periods.
  • The programming will also take into account your current playing and training workload, and what equipment you have access to.
  • As you progress and develop your programming will be adjusted accordingly to ensure training is optimized (something pre-written programs simply cannot do).
  • Assistance with programming for other athletic goals (fat loss, upper body strength and size, speed, etc)* integrated alongside your jump training.
  • Unlimited email coaching help.
  • Dietary guidance if you need to lean down.

There is one other thing I am offering as part of this service. And that is my DIRECT telephone number. This is something no other jump trainer currently offers.

If you have a pressing question or there is something that you just need further explanation on, you will be able to simply pick up the phone and call me direct.

What Is The Benefit of a CUSTOMIZED Jump PROGRAM?

Simply put, you get better results. An individually targeted program always gets better results. And it isn't just me saying this.

In a recent study titled 'Periodization Paradigms in the 21st Century: Evidence-Led or Tradition-Driven?', the author compared the way designing training programs for athletes had been traditionally done (the periodization model) versus what was scientifically shown to be more effective (custom designed programming based on the needs of the individual athlete).

So what did they find?

"In recent years substantial evidence has emerged demonstrating that training responses vary extensively, depending upon multiple underlying factors."

"In concluding, it is recommended that increased emphasis be placed on the design and implementation of sensitive and responsive training systems that facilitate the guided emergence of customized context-specific training-planning solutions."

In short, a training plan that isn't customized, and doesn't adapt with you just isn't going to get you the same level of results.

How Much Does A CUSTOM  Vertical Jump Program Cost?

How much do you think would you expect to pay for this service? $100? No. $50? Nope. $20? Negative. You should probably fall off your chair when I tell you that the monthly cost is currently

Yes you read that correctly.

For what works out to be a a ridiculously cheap 33 cents per day you can have access to ongoing custom programming and vertical jump coaching assistance from someone who lives and breathes vertical jump and athletic improvement.

To put this into perspective I charge $77 PER HOUR when working with my face to face clients.

Most pre-written jump programs you can buy online cost $67-$97.

You can get 6+ months worth of custom training programs for the same price using this service.

If you followed the workouts that are WRITTEN SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU it is entirely reasonable for you to expect gains of 6-12 inches (or more) on your vertical jump in that time.

ONLY $10? How Can I Do This?

When I told some of my peers about my plan to offer online coaching and custom programming for $10 a month they told me I was

a) not charging anywhere near enough money,

b) would not be able to handle the demand, and

c) mad for doing it.

However there is a big factor that has influenced my decision to offer this service at this price.

That reason is that I know what it's like to grow up without a lot of advantages. I was fortunate enough that as a kid I had a roof over my head and a loving family, but I certainly wasn't attending any private schools with state-of-the-art training facilities and a team of strength and conditioning coaches. In fact my high school gym was so small it only had a basketball ring at one end.

I know that people with a lot of money already have a lot of advantages in life so I wanted the coaching program to be affordable for anyone who wanted to get help and was willing to put in the work to get the results.

However, there are limits.

I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO take on unlimited numbers of coaching clients. There just aren't enough hours in the day to help everyone. When the demand on my time gets too overwhelming I will withdraw the service.

What Sort of Results Can I Expect?

I don't make specific promises about exact results because there are so many variables outside of the training program that can have a big impact.

For example how long you train with me for, what level of development you are already at, how much other training you are currently involved in, what areas you need to work on (some strength qualities are developed more quickly than others), your age, your gender, your level of stress in your life, how much sleep you get, your diet, and of course your genetics can all make a HUGE difference to the RATE of gains.

These factors incidentally are another reason you shouldn't believe it when marketers try and sell you there programs using claims of GUARANTEED INCHES. THEY ARE LYING TO YOU.

Now having said that I don't promise specific gains, I have been doing this long enough to know that most athletes who train with my programs for a period of at least 6 months will generally see improvements in the range of 6-12 inches.

Some see more (I have had quite a few athletes gain 12-15 inches in that time), and advanced athletes will obviously gain less, but that 6-12 inches is the average results I would expect you to see.

Why Should You Listen To Me?

If you haven't already got an idea of my passion or knowledge of vertical jump training from the sheer volume and quality of information I provide freely at this site, maybe you should see check out some of the results below:

Solomon Bamiro:This man could truly fly.

Former Harlem Globetrotter Solomon 'Bam Bam' Bamiro

"After my surgery, I desperately wanted to get my "hops" back. I researched and researched different websites looking for an answer. I went through many websites that gave me the same workouts and had the same dialogues about jumping. But none of them were geared towards my specific needs. I even emailed a few of these people to the same answers.

Then I found Jack and Up to this day I've never found a website as detailed, researched, and informative as this one. So I took a chance and emailed Jack about my specific need. I was in need of building my leg strength post surgery and explained this to Jack and I received an immediate response.

Not only did Jack design a workout specific to me, he also followed through by checking on my gains. Jack has tons of knowledge in gaining athleticism the right way. He had me back on the court in no time. Without a doubt I had a great time doing the workouts. I recommend Jack and to any serious athlete looking to improve their vertical jumping ability.

Karol Serwin

Karol Serwin: Don't try this at home

Karol Serwin who does some of the most amazing things I have ever seen on a bike sent me this message:

"I am 26-y-o professional trials rider, twice vice world champion and 11 times Champion of Poland. I was trained by Jack for 3 years improving my jumping skills. Thanks to him I have gained more strength and extraordinary jumping abilities. I have broken my records quite a few times. Jack's atitude was highly professional and individually focused.

What about your more everyday athletes?

Dave Gurney from Queensland, Australia won a dunk contest after using my vertical jump program. See his winning dunk below.

Here is another dunk video from MegaHrvach·(Youtube user name) after following my program for only 4 weeks!

One of my earliest customers Matt Lehner sent me this testimonial:

"Jack really knows about increasing vertical jump. He has answered all of my questions and helped me with whatever I needed. His program is by far the best on the market. It will improve whatever areas you are weak in to make them your strengths. And once you are done with the program, you simply re-test and the software will make you a new program. It is pure genious! My single-leg running vertical improved 3 inches, from 32 to 35, in my first program! If you are searching for the right jump program, you've come to the right place. Jack will guide you to where you want to go."

His dunk mix is also pretty nice.

How about these nice words from Vertical Mastery customer Axel Kerr:

"I decided to purchase vertical mastery, because of a couple of reasons:

1. I feel that fully customized workouts were exactly what I needed.

2. I didn't believe in all the hype that other jump programs had when they claimed that they would give say, 8 inches in 10 weeks etc.

So I purchased your program when it was on sale, and here were my results:

It turned out my strength was pretty good, I could squat 1.5x my body weight, but my reactiveness and explosiveness needed work, particularly my reactiveness as well as 2 foot jumping. Well my standing vertical was 296cm, with my reach being 241cm, and after a week it's now 305cm.

That's a 3 and a half gain on my standing vertical in a week. No hype, just results as you would say.

Thank you for being the only honest vertical jump trainer out there.

And it isn't just athletes who like my methods and approach. Having met and spoken with many coaches and trainers over the years about vertical jump training, here is some of the feedback I have received from my peers:

Joel Smith "Jack Woodrup has been a friend and colleague of mine in the sport performance industry ever since I started writing almost a decade ago. He offers a "no b.s", genuine, and highly informative perspective on anything having to do with becoming a stronger and more powerful athlete. This is especially true in the pinnacle movement of a modern sportsman, the vertical jump. With Jack, unlike many trainers out there, you absolutely are getting what you pay for and more. He is out there to make you better, that's his passion, and you can see it through his writing and the many athletes he has helped.

Jack is a guy who has the tri-fecta of training experience as well, including years of training clients via intelligent software, in-the-trenches personal coaching, and training himself to a highly coveted vertical leap. I would strongly recommend his services to anyone out there looking to become a better athlete."

Joel Smith MS, CSCS,

Assistant Strength Coach, Men's Swim/Track and Field/Tennis. California Berkeley

Mark Homewood "Jack has developed a thorough and diverse program for helping athletes from all sports to enhance their vertical leap. I am happy to endorse his coaching prowess and I'm sure he can help you to improve and maximize your athletic potential"

Mark Homewood, B.SC (Hon), B. Physiotherapy,
Rehabilitation Coach, Gold Coast Suns Football Club

Mike T Nelson "I've had the pleasure of knowing Jack for over 4 years now. I've been impressed by his desire to learn more and seek what gets the best results, period. He is not interested in proving he is right, but finding what works even better. The end results is a vertical jump system that is well thought out and gets results."

How Does The Jump Program Work?

The vertical jump program is very simple.

  1. Sign up via one of the Order Now buttons
  2. Once you have signed up you will be redirected to a page where you can download the introductory documents and the information you need to complete on your self-assessment.
  3. After I receive your self-assessment form I will review the results and prepare your jump training program based on the information you have provided.
  4. You train hard, asking any questions you have along the way.
  5. When you complete your program you re-do the self-assessment and I build you a new custom program to follow based on where you have improved to.

It is that last step that is the most important. You see increasing your vertical jump isn't about doing one program for 10-12 weeks and that's it.

Jump training, like any athletic pursuit is an ongoing process. Even with the very best vertical jump coaching in the world you will not maximize your vertical jump in just 10-12 weeks.

Depending on your age, where you are starting in terms of athletic strengths and weaknesses, your current jumping ability, how much other training you are doing etc, your training will most likely take you longer than just 10-12 weeks to really get close to your genetic ceiling.

This is another reason why I have priced the coaching program so low! You see I want you to succeed. It is in my interests as a trainer that you do.

At $10 you can try the vertical jump coaching service for 6 months and STILL come out in front compared to some other programs.

Who Is The Jump Coaching Program For?

While my goal is to help people who can't otherwise afford good programming and coaching, it is open to everyone. However, if you aren't prepared to put in the work, please don't sign up. There are only a limited number of places available and I would much rather they were filled by people who genuinely want to get better, not by time wasters.

Is There A Minimum Age?

There is plenty of research that indicates clear benefits in performance and a reduction in both severity and frequency of injury in younger athletes who have undergone athletic training.

However the general advice here is that for younger athletes to benefit, they should be supervised and monitored to ensure their technique is sound, and they aren't overdoing it. So if you are a younger athlete in your early teens, before signing up you need to make a judgement call about whether or not you are competent enough to follow a structured training program.

If you have a parent or older sibling who has experience with different forms of exercise and can keep an eye on you and help to correct any technique issues than you can and should get them to watch you during your workouts.

Do You Have To Use Weights?

No. If strength is your biggest limiting factor then the best way to improve is in the gym lifting weights. However if you do not have access to strength training equipment, or would simply prefer not to train with weights, then you can choose to have your program designed with no weight training involved.

Is There a Catch?

There is no catch. However there is ONE rule.

Due to the time it takes to assess your results and build the programs, and the ridiculously low price I am offering the vertical jump coaching for, I really only want people who are truly committed to improving their vertical jump to sign up.

Each training program I write lasts for 2 months so if you can't give it your all for that 2 months please do not waste my time or yours.

While I am very confident in my coaching and the programs I write, if you follow the workouts and aren't happy with the results than you are most welcome to cancel your membership and receive a full refund anytime within 60 days of signing up.
